Through our Caring Beyond Cleaninginitiative, we actively seek out opportunities to give back to the people, places, and institutions that uplift our community. Each month, we proudly partner with a local nonprofit, educational, or cultural organization—and for August, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on one of Ocala’s most innovative gems: IHMC.
What is IHMC Ocala?
The Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC) is a world-renowned research center headquartered in Pensacola with a vital presence right here inOcala. IHMC is dedicated to developing cutting-edge technologies that leverage human and artificial intelligence to solve real-world problems. Their work focuses on areas like:
- Robotics & Exoskeletons
- Artificial Intelligence
- Human Health & Performance
- Cognitive Systems
- Autonomy and Human-Machine Collaboration IHMC researchers partner with NASA, the U.S. military, and academic institutions to explore the boundaries of what’s possible when machines and humans work together. And perhaps most importantly, they’re doing it from our very own community.
Why We Chose IHMC for August
As a local small business with deep roots in Ocala, we’re inspired by IHMC’s commitment to innovation, science, and community education. Their outreach events, such as the Evening Lecture Series, bring world-class speakers to Marion County, exposing local students, educators, and families to global conversations around technology and the future.
Their campus in downtown Ocala is not only a hub of research excellence—it’s a symbol of how small cities can contribute to solving big problems.
We saw this partnership as a way to say thank you for the impact IHMC is making locally and globally.
Our Contribution: A Cleaner Environment for Clean Thinking For our August Caring Beyond Cleaningproject, our team at Warren’s Power Washing donated full exterior cleaning services to the IHMC Ocala campus. We focused on:
- Cleaning exterior walkways, entries, and siding • Pressure washing common areas used by staff and visitors • Refreshing the appearance of signage and surrounding concrete By helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, we hope to support IHMC’s mission by literally clearing the way for innovation to thrive.
